How to hide quizzes on Facebook?

At dinner last Friday I found out some poor souls didn't know you could block quizzes and other unwanted applications from your main Facebook feed. 

Step 1: 

Hover your mouse over the title of a post from a quiz or other application you'd like to hide. 

Step 2: 

Select the second option to hide a specific quiz or application. If you want to hide all posts from that user, select the top option. 

Step 3: 

Profit. And by profit I mean click my Google Ads. Seriously. Diapers are expensive.

Bee Stung Lips

Now this brings back some memories. Way back in the day - 'roundbouts nineteen hundred and ninety five - I did a "homepage" for Bee Stung Lips, a pretty decent college pop band from Houston, Texas. They were all classmates of mine at Rice University, and I had a account on ruf.rice.edu that ran a web server. Back in those days, getting a "real website" actually took some work - you had to have "connections", or real money, to get one.

Come to think about it, Yahoo! was still yahoo.stanford.edu when I first submitted it to be included.

And OMFG was that a horrible site. Awful textured background, rainbow-colored hard rules, and animated "NEW!" gifs.

*shudder*

One day I'll look back ...

... and miss Southern California.

It's the first week of July and we haven't turned on the air conditioner yet. In fact, we don't even have one. Seriously. My "spent my first 22 years in Texas" briain still doesn't understand this. Almost every time I'm about to open a door and can how bright it is outside, I cringe expecting a blast of hot air to knock me on my ass.

I spent last week in scenic Columbus, Ohio, and whined like a baby daily because "IT'S SO HAWT OUT HERRE!"

So one of the benefits of being a level 9 Internet celebrity, other than being able to cast Teleport, is mising a $25,000 freeroll into the WPT or getting the hook up from Apple. I'm not hating - he's written a couple good books, and his blog is always entertaining. I spent my time in the trenches doing phone support for a computer company, and my advice is simple - be cool to the guys on the phone.

I used to live across the street from the Apple offices in Austin before I moved to San Diego last fall. I had to call them a couple of months ago with an iBook problem, and ended up chatting with the awesome tech for about 30 minutes about everything but the laptop. I could have probably gotten a date with her if I had asked, but my wife might have frowned on that.
